Elizabeth Nannestad’s playful, close observations of wilderness and wild women of several generations are held together by the wind and time shifts. Seventeen years after her last book, Wild Like Me brings back one of the vital voices of New Zealand poetry.
‘It has been 17 years since Nannestad's last book of poems, and this collection reacquaints us with a distinctive voice that has been silent for too long.’
—Tim Upperton, NZ Listener
Elizabeth Nannestad was born 1956. An Aucklander, she worked as a forensic psychiatrist, then became a home-schooling mother. Now redundant. She is the author of two previous books: Jump (1986, joint winner of the New Zealand Book Award for poetry) and If He's a Good Dog He'll Swim (1996).
