1979. Three Mile Island smokes. Alcoholism has yet to become a fashionable disease. Sean Angell leaves behind the bars and boarding houses of Wellington for the promise of a cure at Whisky Brae, a rehabilitation centre high in the Southern Alps. But is Sean ready to learn that ‘it is not the drunkard who writes the drinking song’?
